D/A Central, Inc. responded to a request by DPS to address theft issues in the vacant DPS buildings. D/A presented a creative plan using wireless video intrusion alarms, reducing the cost for the project by nearly 90%. It is estimated that D/A was able to save Detroit Public Schools nearly $2M, not including the savings from the reduction in property damage and asset loss.
Lighting is one of the most important factors in image quality. As it gets darker, a
surveillance camera’s ability to capture evidentiary detail such as faces and licence plates
rapidly decreases. In order to overcome this, artificial sources of light can be added to the
scene, the most common of which is Infrared (IR) illumination.
